Typstatic is pre-alpha!
Everything changes all the time, everything breaks all the time, and most of the time nobody tells you anything about that. Just like life.
This website is very fragmentary, broken in many places, and sometimes misleading and out of date.
Be patient, Typstatic in development (2026-08). When it’s ready for public use it will be announced on the forum and this message will be removed.
Typstatic is not the first tool to use Typst for producing websites. So why make another tool? For me the reason is simple: having examined all the tools I am aware of (see below), none of them combines all following features.
- Written in Typst, not in another language (like Rust) or a chimera software.All of the tools below support writing your pages in Typst, but not all are written in it.
- An independent tool, not to be combined with an existing site generator (like Hugo, which is static, or Moodle, which is dynamic).
- Framework-agnostic (Astro seems to be popular here).
- Depends on Typst alone for templating.
- Flexible, comprehensive and mature enough for building complex websites with interconnected pages.
- Makes use of Typst scripting abilities of extensibility.
I hope Typstatic is useful for you. If not, please consider one of the tools below, or if Typstatic looks suitable but there’s something specific you lack, contact me and I’ll do my best to help. If neither way works for you, your last resort is to make a new tool of your own… In case you do that, let me know so I can add it here
